The National Do Not Call Registry gives you an opportunity to limit the number of telemarketing calls you receive. You can register your home or mobile phone online or you may delete your phone number by calling toll-free 1-888-382-1222 from the telephone number you want to delete. Once you register your phone number, telemarketers covered by the National Do Not Call Registry have up to 31 days (starting January 1, 2005) from the date you register to stop calling you. Registration is free. Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008.
