Supervisor Kate Murray welcomes you to the Town of Hempstead

Welcome to the new Town of Hempstead website. www.TOH.LI is chock full of important and useful information pertaining to America's largest township.

Our new search engine makes it easier to navigate www.TOH.LI and we have added exciting features, including a live cam view of the town's beach at Point Lookout. In addition, high tide tables of Jones Inlet and links to up-to-date tide and local weather information can be viewed.

The Town of Hempstead has teamed with Petfinder.com to offer a place on the World Wide Web to view all of the adoptable animals at the town's Animal Shelter. Please take a moment to peruse Petfinder.com and see our adorable dogs and cats.

Acquiring permits, licenses and initiating transactions with Hempstead Town is easier than ever. We have made numerous forms from the Town Clerk, Building Department and Receiver of Taxes Office available to be downloaded and printed. Also, it's now easy to check out what's happening in the Town of Hempstead on our new and improved Town News and Town Calendar pages and we've recently made the monthly Tourism Calendar of Events available online.

If you plan on visiting us, directions are now available to get you from your location to town hall.

Whether you are a Hempstead Town resident or plan to visit our community, you will find the information available on our web site to be both interesting and invaluable.

The Town of Hempstead has been a progressive precedent-setting leader in many areas of municipal administration. In such varied fields as economic development, environmental conservation, solid waste disposal, and recreation, Hempstead Town has forged new paths, and created and implemented programs and policies that are emulated by other municipalities.

The conversion of the former Merrick Landfill into the Norman J. Levy Park & Preserve epitomizes the town's commitment to environmental conservation. Make sure to check out the colorful pictures of beautiful Levy Preserve on this site.

Baldwin Skate Park, a facility for inline skaters and skateboarders located in Baldwin Park, is the newest jewel of our outstanding parks and recreation system. Visit our parks section and discover the variety of classes and programs offered by the town.

As you explore our website you will be accessing information detailing the many outstanding services and events provided to residents and visitors alike on a year-round basis.
